This gave the case a proper centre of gravity and the optimal air channel for cooling. I went through multiple designs before deciding on the side of simplicity. Just a lowly mounting plate.

After mounting my Thermaltake ToughPower 1200W and shorting it out due to bare aluminium touching the power supply by accident, I had to remount my Thermaltake 850W inside SSR-X. I still don't want to talk about it. Can Thermaltake fix power supplies?

I was thinking about mounting the hard drives in the wings, though, but space and loss of the centre of gravity kept me from doing so. The secondary location was right behind the nose.
